How is it done?

The surgery is always performed under general anesthesia in a licensed clinic. On average, it can take between one hour and a half to three hours. The incisions follow the natural contours breasts and define the resection skin area and the new place where the areola will be. Skin excess is removed and the areola is repositioned in an upper part. Depending on the case the sutures are placed around the areola or a in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast. In certain cases, when the breast is small and little dropped, the incision is placed only around the areola and may be necessary to place an implant underneath the breast tissue or the pectoral muscle in breasts. After surgery a bandage or special bra is placed.
